Vista High to dedicate new stadium today Vista High School is preparing to kick off the new school year with the dedication today of its $3.7 million rebuilt Dick Haines Stadium (named for the former football coach). The school has activities planned throughout the day, including a pep rally for the student body in the morning and football game in the evening. An afternoon hors doeuvres reception will be held to welcome former coaches from the school, with entertainment from Vista Highs music department. At 6 p.m. the formal dedication begins, with a parade of former coaches and players on the field who will be honored by a flyover from the Civil Air Patrol. Former assistant coach Dave Parks will conduct the honorary coin toss for the game against San Marcos. The two-year stadium rebuild includes a new track surface for use by P.E. and athletic teams, a new ticket booth, and snack bar, restrooms and storage on both sides of the stadium for home and visiting teams. The facility has an open plaza on the visitors side as well as new lighting and accessibility for all. Dual language program adds location Springs Charter Schools La Fuente Student Center, a tuition-free public charter school that offers a dual immersion Spanish and English program for grades TK-8, has a new location at 700 E. Bobier Drive, on the campus of Faith Lutheran Church and Preschool.
